Letter from Diocesan office 19 June, 20

19th June 2020

Dear Parents/ Guardians and children preparing for First Holy Communion

It is now almost seven weeks since I last wrote to you letting you know that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and government restrictions the celebration of your First Holy Communion would not take place on the planned date in late April or May. I know that must have been very disappointing for everybody, yourself, your family, your parish and school.

Now that the government has made clear that schools will re-open in September the celebration of your First Holy Communion will be arranged by your parish in consultation with your school when things have settled down later in the autumn.

Until then I ask you and your family to continue to pray together, remembering those who are sick, all who are caring for them and all those who continue to keep us safe.

I am delighted that you will soon be able to go to Mass with your family as this will be possible from the end of this month.

Please be assured that you continue to be in my prayers and I ask you to remember me in your prayers too.

Yours sincerely in Christ
