Picture 3: What is the wolf doing? Is the wolf a nice character?

Picture 4: What is happening in the picture? Describe the scenery in the background.

After discussion ask your child what picture should go first, second, third and last. Encourage them to list reasons for their choices.

Point to each picture in turn and ask your child to describe what is happening. Encourage them to order the pictures.

  • Record how long it takes your child to run around the perimeter of the house, the length of the garden etc.
  • Record how long it takes to peel an orange (either adult or child can do the peeling)

Extra Online Activities:

  1. Online Jigsaws: (For something a little different... these online jigsaws are very good for problem solving and help with fine motor skills too. In the search box, search for the number of pieces in the jigsaw. Start easy and work your way up) https://www.jigsawplanet.com/
  2. Collins Big Cat eBooks: (Your child will be familiar with a number of the Big Cat books, especially books from the pink and red bands. The eBooks come with an audio and interactive quiz at the end. It is a very lovely activity to do on a tablet.)

Term 3: Week 1

Weekly Plan of Work for week commencing the 20th April, 2020.

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are keeping well. Due to the very unusual circumstances we are in, we are all trying to adapt to this new way of learning. I will be here to support you through the process as best I can.

I have suggested online materials to accompany this work. Please do not feel under pressure to do all the work given and if you are having trouble accessing the online materials there is no need to worry, it is not essential. I will be in touch with you to see how your child is progressing with the work

Please feel free to contact me at maryinchigeelans@gmail.com

Best Wishes

Mary Uí Dhuinnín
