2nd June, 2020-

Hi all,

I hope you are all well ,

The weather is just beautiful and I hope you are all getting out in the lovely fresh air and sunshine, going for walks, playing in the garden, helping out with some chores and enjoying this lovely month of June.

We would have been off today, Tuesday from school, in normal circumstances so its up to ye to see if ye will take today off at home also, as the weather is just fantastic- blue skies all around. I have posted up a photo of Ireland taken from the international space station yesterday- it is very rare to see Ireland without a single cloud, so its lovely to see the outline so well.

Have a lovely week all of you, I hope ye are still engaging in the activities that are suggested here, that the SESE is creating a little variety and that ye are enthusiastic as we near the end of the remaining books in Irish, English and Maths- Some books are already finished, finish line very close with others-

Art idea posted here also for enjoyment -

Also, some other suggestions for your day and activities for the week ahead- now is a lovely time for picking wonderful wild flowers, watching butterflies, swallows, listening to the cuckoo, hearing lambs in the fields and watching nature bloom. All of these activities are great for learning and noticing more what is around us-

We are very lucky to live in the countryside so enjoy the surroundings.

Please email if I can help with anything.

25th to 29th May- Work suggestions-

Hello,

I hope you are all well and that you are all in good spirits. The past week has had a mixed bag of weather, so it was a little tricky to get out each day, but I hope ye succeeded most days.

It has been very windy here- nicer again today, and the forecast I think is good for the week ahead-

Thank you all very much for taking the time to collect school books last Tuesday.

I was delighted to meet family members and hear how you are doing. It is all very hard to make sure things are going ok at such a distance, so it was lovely to get feedback.

Continue to keep a routine as best you can, tackle the suggested work when possible, and if you wish to rearrange when the work it done, that is perfect also-

Ye will be so upset to realise that I will not set any more Gaeilge or English spellings for the remainder of the year.. or the sentences to explain their meanings, or the fuaimeanna agus focail activities!!!!! It is one of the benefits from being at home- we would be finding new lists at school!!

Also, fifth and sixth will not need to do any more Work it out for rest of year, and similar to spelling lists for 3rd and 4th, if we were in school, I think we would definately be finding some more for ye to work on!!

Instead, we will work on a little more SESE and I hope that this will be a welcome break and new experience, which will engage you all a little more-

Well done on focusing on the work and well done for being super at home-

Best wishes and remember, use the email to contact

 principal.inchigeelans@gmail.com or inchigeelans@gmail.com

The answer books for maths will be emailed to you also if you contact Ms White or myself, as the files are too big to put on the website-

18th to 22nd  May, 2020- Work Suggestions

Hello again-

I hope you are all doing well and that you had a nice weekend. We are lucky the weather is staying nice that we can get out and about-

I expect that it is difficult to stay focused at times each day but continue to try your best, and be aware that this is only for a certain time, so we will all get back to school and new routines again- we just need to stay focused a little longer on school work at home, so keep going- ye are doing fantastically well i am sure-

We will be sending home the remaining books this week that ye were working on during the year- namely Geography activity, History Activity and Just Maps, as well as atlases, dictionaries, copies, main text books and some additional readers for independent reading - I have timetabled in some work on the SESE also this week, as well as an art activity- I will suggest an art activity for you to do each week- hopefully you will enjoy it-

I have printed off schedules for SESE books that will go home with the books- keep them somewhere safe- I will also put the schedule up on the website each week however.

The answer books for Just Maps are printed off for you. Some of the questions can be a little tricky, so each day, it would help perhaps to look and correct after attempting-

Remember, send an email request to get the answer books for maths 5th and 6th- Also, remember to email if you need anything-

principal.inchigeelans@gmail.com or inchigeelans@gmail.com

I will also put up translations of Gaeilge text book pages in a new page on website, 3rd/4th -Gaeilge Help'  as i think some of the questions are a little tricky, so link on to that to help also-

I have outlined some work plans again for this coming week and it is fantastic if you can follow them as best you can, when it works in at home.

Be as fantastic as you all are at school when helping out and working with your families-

Best wishes,

Ms Lucey-

5th May, 2020

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well and that you are all managing to get out to exercise and enjoy the nice weather that we are having most days. Perhaps maybe you are getting a chance to read outside, to do some art and craft work outside or some gardening activities . It is great to get out in the fresh air when we get a chance.

I hope the school work schedule is managable and that a new routine is settling for you at present. I think you have probably heard at this stage that we will have to extend this home- school link for longer, as we have been told that the schools must remain closed for now-  That will mean that we will finish off our school year remotely . It is such a huge huge change for everyone, I would so much rather be in school doing work with ye, but we are not allowed, so we will continue on linking like this. Please email me if ye have any queries or suggestions or updates on anything.

If ye email myself or Ms White, we will send on the PDF file of answers for the work it out books, so they can be corrected by you each day, making it easier for you to see your results immediately.

As I said last week, ye are always really good at school and I am sure that ye will also do your best at home when asked to do so. Keeping being your super selves-

I was delighted to get some photos and feedback on how some of you are getting on, so please email me inchigeelans@gmail.com if ye would like to update me, or if you have anything ye wish to ask about. principal.inchigeelans@gmail.com is also working for me .
